All living cells require oxygen to metabolize (eat) glucose (sugar) in order to generate the energy the cells require to live. Inside the cell, a chemical reaction oxidizes glucose (combines glucose with oxygen) to produce water, carbon dioxide, and adenosine triphosphate (ATP). It is the ATP itself that provides the energy in the form the cell needs to carry out the functions that sustain its life.
Without oxygen, the call cannot create ATP, and without ATP, the cell starves and dies. When too many critical cells (heart, lung) die from oxygen starvation, then you die too.

Yes you do because its without oxygen you will die
You do not NEED oxygen to breathe. You NEED to breathe oxygen.
It's different. Let me explain.
Breathing is the inhaling and exhaling air. When we inhale, we inhale oxygen and other chemicals. If we INHALE oxygen that means it wasn't present before yet, we BREATHED. Please phrase question.
Oxygen is needed because it contributes to the respiration process. Respiration is the process by which energy from food is converted to energy. The chemicals involved in this process:
Glucose + Oxygen = Carbon Dioxide + Water + Energy
Hence, why you need oxygen.
Same reason we need food for fuel - without it, we'd die.
Just the way we are...
But another way you could look at it is that if there were no oxygen, like in space, our heads would blow up.
It is a involuntary action controlled by our lungs
Yes, we breathe in Oxygen so it is definitely need to survive.
An enzyme that needs oxygen to survive
Oxygen
yes
Oxygen is produced as a by-product of photosynthesis.
All living organisms need water to survive, because they have cells. With air, not all living organisms need air. Some forms of bacteria do not need oxygen to live, and others can't stand oxygen.
you need oxygen to survive anywhere.. most definately on saturn!!
We need oxygen to survive ;D
An enzyme that needs oxygen to survive

Every living creature needs oxygen to survive. Just as every living creature needs water to survive. For example, such as spiders. Yup, spiders do to need oxygen AND water to survive, and of course food. So the answer to your question would be yes, snails do need oxygen to survive.
If they CAN survive without oxygen, they are called facultative anaerobes. In other words, these can survive with or without oxygen. If they CAN ONLY survive if there is no oxygen, they are callled obligate anaerobes. In other words, these can only survive if there is no oxygen.
