I was wondering the same thing, I am 26 years old & have never had seizures. I have been taking Adderall for about 4 years now. Prior to this last year I would take "Adderall vacations" when not in school. However I had an extremly difficult year as i was finishing up my degree, interning, & working- along with my daily life obligations such as household duties & what not. A few times I started having what I could only imagine were seizures a few times a night. I would have between 3-7 a night when it happened, which was only about 6 times. I researched it on the internet & found that when overly exhausted, adderall can cause neurons to misfire causing a synaptic transmission. The information intended for a certain neurotransmitter never reaches it (assisting in smooth transmission of info to parts of the brain where ADHD people are lacking is generally what adderall assists with) I read that amphetamines can cause mioclonic (may be spelling that wrong) seizures. I went to the neurologist to get an EKG & they saw nothing. (But in my opinion this is only bc I did not have any occurances during the 3 days that I wore the monitor!!!) It has happened several times since then, however I now just keep telling myself it will be over in a few seconds & it'll be ok. When it has happened to me, I have no control over any part of my body, my heart beat raises (although that can probably be attributed tostarting to get freaked out), but I can hear whats going on around me & think clearly. I also have ranged from not shaking at all to shaking enough that my fiance can feel it in the bed. It has never happened to me during the day only at night while attempting to fall asleep & like I started to say before people with ADHD's minds are on overdrive & jump from one thing to the next (as I'm sure is evident from this response lol) & the info is just shooting around inside & causing interactions with other parts of the brain (wow that was about the most preschool way of saying that) I'm sure I didn't convey exactly what I was attempting. So basically yes it is absolutely possible, even if you took your child to the dr & they said otherwise, you & your child know their body best so don't settle for what a dr says if you believe it is causing it. Will taking Adderall cause bumps on the tongue?

Some people have experienced painful bumps on their tongues after taking Adderall, but it is not a common side effect. If you take Adderall, or are going to be in the future, I would recommend taking it as prescribed by your doctor and seeing how it works for you. If you do happen to get tongue sores, then you're probably better off asking your doctor for an alternative medication. Adderall causing bumps on the tongue is a rare occurence, but it has happened.

Can taking 4 adderall 20 mg at one time cause any permanent damage?

Yes it most certainly can, the max dose given usually is 40 milligrams throughout the day not at once. Remember adderall is amphetamine the same drug as speed sold on the street. It is a powerfull stimulant. Amphetmaine as it is at any dose lowers your seizure treashold, increases your heart rate among other effects. Taking way more than the max dose like that at the same time can cause a brain ansuresum, stroke, seizures, induce mania or cause a heart attack or instant death and it will certainly cause some brain damage

Could high doses of Adderall cause nerve damage?

Yes it could cause nerve damage. It's amphetamines- speed. If you take too much it could kill you. Adderall carries the risk of heart attack and stroke.AnswerIf you are used to taking adderall and have been taking it for a while then it will not hurt to start taking higher doses if it does not help with your focus factor. But you should not go over 60g. a day.I don't think it causes nerve damage. I ingested a months supply on a 2day binge. No damage, wasn't very fun either. No, you should be fine. It may hurt your nasal passage if snorted regularly, though.
