Brake Lights NOT WORKING

Without being able to do a "hands on" troubleshooting of the circuit, no one can tell you the specific cause for this problem. So, the following "generic" answer is the best I can do to help.

There could be several causes, some of which include:

  • The fuse [or circuit breaker] which protects the circuit is "blown," thus "opening" the circuit, preventing the flow of electricity.
  • The brake light switch is not properly installed or adjusted properly.
  • There is a "bad" electrical connection, anywhere within the brake light circuit. This could include: corrosion inside of one or more of the wiring harness connector contacts, or corrosion where ground wires are screwed to the body sheet metal [the body sheet metal is grounded to the battery negative terminal, and thus acts to return current flow to the battery].
  • One or more of the conductors has been broken or cut, thus "opening" the circuit, just like turning off a switch.

There probably other reasons which do not come to my mind at this point. Good luck.
