Possible 10 amp Fuse in position # 20 or #34 in fuse box drivers side of dashboard.
I would also check the antenna connection behind the radio. Common ground where antenna is connected at body.
Or LUX Stereo 30amp fuse position Y in power distribution box located in the engine compartment (under the hood) near the firewall on the drivers side.
JBL system check 30amp fuse position #16 in power distribution box located in the engine compartment (under the hood) near the firewall on the drivers side.

You can find a 2002 Ford Explorer radio wiring diagram at most Ford dealerships. You can also find the radio wiring diagram at most auto-parts stores.
There are several reasons this may happen. No power. It may be the fuse, a break in the wiring or the radio itself may be beyond repair
The radio could have a short in a wire that is being bounced and causing it to turn off. It also could be the radio is going out and should be replaced.
as long as there is power to the radio the fuse is not the problem
The gem module on an 03 Ford Explorer is under the dash. It is just to the left of the radio.
On a Ford Explorer , the power distribution box ( which is " live " ) is located in the engine compartment
you can find a radio diagram picture for 1994 ford explorer on www.google.com if you want just picture choose image.
