She is a nymph and the daughter of Asopus, a river god. The god Zeus fell in love with her,and got her pregnant. Her son is Aeacus, the king of Attica.

The sea nymph Calypso kept Odysseus captive for seven years. Calypso fell in love with Odysseus and wanted him to stay with her for the rest of his life.
Goddess? I do not know. What I know is that Polyphemus fell in love wit a nereid (sea nymph) named Galatea. She did not want the ugly giant. He threw a rock at her which killed her lover Acis.
The death of Narcissus was witnessed by the nymph Echo. According to mythology, after Narcissus fell in love with his own reflection and ultimately perished, Echo, who had longed for him, lamented his fate. Her sorrow was profound, as she was left heartbroken by his unrequited love.
The short version: he was so handsome that many girls fell in love with him, but he spurned them all. Instead, he fell in love with his reflection (by the work of Nemesis), and pined away finally being transformed into a flower. In some versions, however, he died before being transformed.
In Greek mythology, the god Pan fell in love with the nymph Echo and wanted to marry her. However, Echo rejected Pan's advances, and as a result, Pan sought vengeance on her.
