The "Strangers"!
The Strangers
On the Mayflower, the 102 passengers were divided into two groups, the pilgrims and the strangers (everyone besides the pilgrims). The strangers were the majority group.
The Mayflower Compact was drawn up with fair and equal laws, for the general good of the settlement and with the will of the majority. The Mayflower's passengers knew that the New World's earlier settlers failed due to a lack of government.
The Pilgrims outnumbered the strangers whom were brought by merchants.

The Pilgrims used two ships to travel to America in 1620: the Mayflower and the Speedwell. However, the Speedwell had to turn back due to leaks, leaving the Mayflower to carry the majority of the passengers to the New World. Ultimately, the Mayflower successfully transported 102 Pilgrims and other settlers to Plymouth, Massachusetts.
The majority of the Mayflower's passengers on the journey to Virginia were Puritans, a group who believed that both the Church of England and the Catholic Church in England had strayed from the teachings of the Bible.
