The story is about facing mortality. The protagonist is first seen plucking white hairs from his father's head to make him look younger for a job interview. He tires of this and decides to go play with his friend instead. Upon meeting with his friend he sees that he is sad because his father is sick. This makes the young protagonist realize his father is also a mortal who can die after thinking about how he, his brother, and father never go to play cricket anymore. The protagonist goes home to help his father pluck more white hairs from his head, but wants to be asked. When his father doesn't ask for his help he goes into his room and cries about the thought of mortality.
