You basically got two options one is to try with engine cleaner additive from wynns or similar manufacturer. It all depends on how bad the sludge problem has become. If it is a mild case the engine cleaner additive might do the trick. But if the sludge is of a major level then a engine flush done at a garage with a special machine is the way to go. And finally the last option if its really bad then a engine rebuild is what you have to do.

What oil does an Audi A4
About 5.5. Make sure it is synthetic- prevents sludge build up.
Low oil pressure on an Audi A4 is typically caused by oil sludge in 1.8 turbocharged engines. There was a recall and extended warranty service notice issued by Audi for all 1.8T engines (can't recall what model years though). Do not drive your car, take it immediately to the nearest Audi dealer and make sure that they check the oil pan. If your car is found to have a sludge or deposit problem, Audi will pay the cost of repair or at least a portion of it. I found this problem on my 2002 A4 1.8T Avant, which required draining and replacement of all engine oil and upgrading the oil pickup screen, filter and oil pan to reduce future sludge. Frequent oil changes would be advisable if your car is found to have this problem.
How do I change the oil filter on an Audi A4 Diesel 2007
what year jabronie?
Yes
not excessively
yes.
Yes. Oil would be good. Seriously, the Audi people have announced that full synthetic oil is the best thing to avoid sludge buildup in the 1.8 engine, and have rethought the 10,000 mile interval, in favor of 5,000. There is supposedly a series of technical service bulletins covering approved oils, change intervals, and the mysterious eight year unlimited sludge warranty. If you have sludge problems, get together all of your oil change receipts, as Audi will not consider honoring a warranty on sludge repairs without proof of oil changes at the recommended intervals. Also, be sure that an Audi filter is used, or at least a large capacity filter. I had an oil change at Midas, and the filter they used ($2.95) was undersized, and resulted in the awakening of a sleeping sludge problem.
The price of an oil change for an Audi A4 may vary depending on the price for the new oil and how much would the service shop charge you for the oil change, but it should be $60 to $100.
5w30- check owner's manual. I run synthetic in my A4 2.8.
