Okay, unfortunately this sounds like the ulcers that they found before have not healed or you have developed new ulcers, they are likely eroding into your posterior wall of your stomach or duodenum causing the pain in your back. The dose of nexium you are on may need to be increased to 40mg twice a day, you will unfortunately need to go back to your gastroenterologist to increase this dose for you, because 40mg a day does not seem to be working. You may also require a stronger pain medication like percocet rather than vicodin
