The fuse box in a 1998 Oldsmobile 88 should be labeled. If it is not labeled, the owner's manual should have a diagram available. If you have no owner's manual, a Chilton repair book for your specific vehicle will have a fuse panel diagram in it.
Plug in a portable code reader. It will display the trouble code, then you find it in the book provided with the code reader. That code will tell you the area that is causing the light to come on.
