He obviously did, but didn't want "the bad guys" to know he had a girl. He said many things indicating they had a relationship--"I'll be back after I make my rounds" "See you after while", etc.
There were plenty of indications women could make that they were lovers, but men watching the show were more likely for it not to be a "romance", but wanted a lawman show. There were many indications--several shows--that indicated they had a continous relationship.
Not in the TV series, for sure. Probably not in the 5 Made-for-TV Movies in the 1980s and 90s, either, but I'm not certain.
My Mistake!according to http://comp.uark.edu/~tsnyder/gunsmoke/tidbits/mattnkitty/index.HTML
there was one kiss, but they don't say which episode it was in.
Matt and kitty did share one kiss, on the cheek.from kitty to Matt. on the only Christmas episode ever filmed that i know of, in 73 or 74, KAT....
Country singer Toby Keith summed it up well. In his song I Should Have Been A Cowboy he sings Marshall Dillon never hung his saddle at Kitty's place. There was always chemistry between Marshall Dillion and Miss Kitty but as much as America wanted their romance to bloom, it is usually a death sentence for a series to bring a budding love into full fruition. So they just stayed friends and kept the romantic tension alive right up to the last episode.
It was the same story for their off screen relationship. They were just good friends.
Kitty gave Matt a kiss on the cheek at the end of one of the Christmas shows. That's the only kiss between them, but as Jim Arness says, "It counts!"
It was believed that the audiences would not approve of their relationship, since Miss Kitty was a saloon girl.
She kissed HIM on the cheek in one episode but that's all we ever saw on camera.
Probably because it wasn't in the script.
She was a former Hooker and a current Madam. Where as Matt Dillon was the Marshal. The writers decided to keep the relationship at a friendship level. Kitty dated other guys, she was allowed to kiss other guys on the show, but could never kiss the Marshal. Matt Dillon never got angry because he knew his relationship was about friendship and nothing more. Due to the dangerous nature of his job, Matt Dillon could not be tied down in a serious relationship.
Ms kitty used her mouth a lot
Yes
Miss Kitty was in love with Marshall Dillon and he was in love with her, but for some tragic reason, their love would remain forever unrequited. It wasn't proper for the Marshall to be seen a-courtin' that saloon-gal, Miss Kitty...
it means a kitten that is small and a miss!
Miss Kitty.
Arthur..? I think the cat (Miss Kitty?) on Mr Roger's neighborhood wore glasses, too, but it was a puppet.
She did not have the mole in a 1955 episode.
Marshal Matt Dillon never married on Gunsmoke. He was involved with Miss Kitty Russell, owner of the Long Branch Saloon, but they never married. Check out Toby Keith's song "Shoulda Been a Cowboy" in which he talks about Marshal Dillon & Miss Kitty.

Once on the cheek at a Christmas party.
Amanda Blake (Miss Kitty) and James Arness (Matt Dillon) .
I believe that they did not. In fact, they even had follow movies where Matt is alone and was never with Miss Kitty.
