you click on your word art text and a box should pop up around it if not click on the edge of the text or in that general area. once you get the box you put your courser on one of the lines and you hold it and drag the text where ever you want it.

click on picture to activate it, you will see bounding box arround, then click on picture and holding mouse button down move it, also you can reposition picture from Format menu: Position and Alignment options.
Because it's easier to place graphics and move stuff around in Publisher than in Word.

In Microsoft word a Picture or Clip art can be moved in several ways. Click the alignment button to move it to the left indent or right. Inserting spaces and tabs before the picture could move it. Text wrapping will also move the Picture according to the option you pick
use Alt Tab for moving between two window you have moved earlier consecutively.

I feel like this is a school assignment! Word is a good program to start with as it obvious what the program is for - it's for producing written documents; if you start with Excel (for example) you would have to understand what a spreadsheet is. Also, knowing Word will always be a useful skill. Having learned Word, you will understand how to use menus, and the keyboard. When you move to other Windows applications, and in particular other Microsoft applications, many of the menus and keyboard shortcuts are the same.
