On Venus, if someone determined the age of a one year old with the method that we use on Earth, the child would not quite be one day old. This can only be possible if a day is longer than a year on Venus. Scientifically, a day is the amount of time it takes for a planet to completely spin around once on its axis, and Venus takes approximately 243 Earth days to do so. On the other hand, a day on Earth is about 24 hours long. To add, a year is measured as the time it takes for a planet’s revolution, and since Venus is closer to the sun than Earth, it takes a shorter route of orbit around the sun, making a full ellipse in around 225.7 Earth days. In contrast, a year on Earth is much longer, about 365.2422 Earth days to be exact. Therefore, since a Venusian year is longer than a Venusian day, it is a true fact that a one-year old can be less than a day old on Venus.

A 13 year old on venus would be 21.3, so a one year old would be 1.6 Venusian Years and 1.5 Venusian days. You are able to check this website for more information:

How long are venus's days and years?

One interesting fact about Venus is that a day on Venus is actually longer than a year on Venus. A Venusian day lasts 243 days, and a year is 224 days. That means that the day on Venus is 19 days longer than the year.

How many earth days will make a venus day?

There are 243 Earth days for a Venus day - but a Venus year is just under 225 Earth days. Therefore - a day on Venus is longer than a year !

What planet has the greatest similarity between the length of its day and the length of its year?

Venus. The "day" (rotation period or sidereal day) is longer than the year! Venus Sidereal day: 243 Earth days. Venus Year: 224.7 Earth days.

How many earth days is a year on Venus?

1 day on Venus is as long as one year on Earth. No seriously, that is true, it takes about one year for venus to make a complete rotation (i dont mean revolution, but rotation like spinning a basket ball.) Actually Venus rotates in about 243 Earth days and that's only about 8 months, not a year. One day on Venus is about 243 Earth days long. There are 24 hours in a day on Earth, 243 x 24=5832 hours. That's the rotation period, known as the "sidereal day". But it's more complicated than that because you're ignoring the "solar day". The solar day depends on a planet's motion round the Sun as well as its spin. For Venus the solar day is about 116.75 Earth days. That's about 116.75 x 24 = 2802 hours.

Can a planets day be longer then its year?

Yes. In fact, Venus has a longer day than its year.

Why is a day on Venus so long?

The length of one day on Venus is the same as 243 Earth days. This is because Venus rotates backwards compared to the other planets in the solar system. A day on Venus is actually longer than a year on Venus.
