If you are referring to EXTRADITION - it can take as long as it takes. There is no statutory time limit on this operation of law. Once the apprehending jurisdiction notifies the 'wanting' jurisdiction, the process begins and certain administrative and legal requirement must be met in order to return someone from state-to-state. If you are still in jail awaiting action after 60 days, I would file a Writ of Habeus Corpus to see where the process stands.
