- There is no set time when there is a break up and the man may want to come back. Some men may get cold feet and it may take weeks to several months for him to realize he misses his ex. Other men may not want a permanent relationship at all and will not come back while others just wanted a sexual relationship with no strings attached. It is a wise decision for a woman in this position to not sit around and mope, but go out with girlfriends and get back out into society; date again and let the heart mend. The old saying 'a watched pot never boils' simply means sitting around and waiting will make you feel like you are waiting forever for something that may never happen or, if it does it could be several months and you have wasted those months by not living life. Destiny sends us down many roads and it is possible that this man is not for you and there is someone special out there or, it may be weeks to months for this man to come back into your life and you may surprise yourself that you may not want him back.
