Yes pumpkins are grown in Alaska. The best known pumpkins that are grown in Alaska are the Atlantic Giant Pumpkins. The record in Alaska for one of these extremely large pumpkins is 1780 lbs in 2011. The sun is available in some towns in Alaska 24 hours a day during the summer. Alaska holds more large vegetable records than any other state.
