You will only have acess to ancient spell by completing the "Desert Treasure" quest, buy doing this quest is a challenge as well, it includes a series of boss fights and a puzzle right at the end which can become really frustrating. But, if you are non-members, go with magic. Most people on nonmembers in runescape DONT use green dhide, if they do, they use maple bows. WHich are terrible. Also, there are ancients. If you have done the desert treasure quest, you can use very powerful spells, such as ice barrage, which freezes your opponent and does heavy damage. But in the end, in my opinion, and breaks down like this: Ranged> normal spells Ranged< ancient spells Ranged= lunar spells (because of vengeance, which reflects all damage)
