Independence Day
July 4, 1776 was the date upon which the founding fathers of the United States signed the Declaration of Independence. On the 4th of July each year, we celebrate our independence from England.
The United States of America celebrates the 4th of July. It is a holiday to celebrate America's independence from the British.Although all countries have a 4th of July on their calendars, the USA is the only country to celebrate the 4th July as their Independence Day.(Abkhazia celebrates their 1993 independence from Georgia, on the Europe-Asia boundary, on the 4th of July, but that is purely coincidental.)Every country has a 4th of July. However, it has greater significance in the U.S., as this date, each year, is celebrated as Independence Day.
In the US, Independence Day is July 4 each year.
Mexico does indeed have an Independence Day - It is each September 16th when they celebrate their independence from Spanish rule. See the weblink at the lower left for more information.
Just as we celebrate the birth of independence on July 4th each year, the people of our Nation celebrate the birth of our Flag every year on June 14th. That special holiday is called:flag day

Independence Day is a different date for each country. For example, in the United States, Independence Day is July 4th, but independence is recognized in Australia on January 26th and is called "Australia Day" or "Anniversary Day".
Indian Independence Day is celebrated each year on August 15th. India gained its independence from the United Kingdom on August 15, 1947.
