23 February 1945;
THE US FLAG CAN BE FLOWN DURING THE DAY, ANYTIME. THE FLAG CAN ONLY BE FLOWN AT NIGHT IF IT IS PROPERLY LIGHTED.
The White House
It should be flown on Australia Day, Labour Day and New Years.
All Day. It can be flown at night if a light is shined on it.
The U.S. flag should be flown from dawn to dusk. If flown at night, it is to be illuminated.

From Dawn to Dusk
The U.S. flag is traditionally flown on several special days, including Independence Day (July 4), Memorial Day (the last Monday in May), and Veterans Day (November 11). It is also displayed on National Flag Day (June 14) and Thanksgiving Day (the fourth Thursday in November). Additionally, the flag is flown at half-staff on certain occasions to honor those who have passed away.
The United States flag can be flown every day and is at every post office. It should be flown on New Year's Day, and government holidays such as Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, July 4th, Flag Day, Labor Day, and Veterans' Day.
From sunrise to sundown
It's half-staff, not half mast (I made the same mistake earlier today). The United States Flag Code calls for the U. S. flag to be flown at half-staff only until noon only on Memorial Day. Every other day on which the flag is flown at half-staff, it is until sunset.
