Well, first there is the newborn army that is comming to get Bella. Second, there is Victoria who wants to kill Bella so she created the army. Third, Bella is torn between Jacob and Edward and wants to hold on to the both.
He was remembering how Bella had been when she had been found in the woods, and when she began going to see Jacob, after Edward had left her. He had seen Sam's memories of finding Bella and Bella was 'barely human' always having to hold heself together, as she couldn't breathe properly.
For the most part, all of the Cullens 'get along' with Bella. However (besides Edward), Alice and Esme are definitely most fond of Bella. Carlisle is also quite kind to her, Jasper is somewhat aloof and avoidant due to his shaky hold on 'vegetarianism', and Emmett finds her very amusing.
