I came back from my SuperTech....in less than 10 seconds...FIXED. He reached in with two fingers, slid the cam out from inside the top part of the lock...(it is shaped like a flattened out banana ...only it is about 3/4 of an inch long). The "jaws" opened and the lock catches the bars on the inside of the door and works as good as new!! Remember...do not force these cams, they slide open very easy.
you jimmy hopkens it
what is wrong with the door latch? will it not open/latch? what year is the vehicle? all of these are needed to answer your question.
you dont!
To fix the 300m latch, you will need to remove the inner door panel. After the door panel has been removed, then you can check the door latch components to determine what has broken and how to best repair it.
Pull the INSIDE handle as if you were going to open the door and then use a flat blade screwdriver ( or any screwdriver ) to move the latch sections apart
Did you check the door latch/lock. The latch part might be broken on the inside. If you have the door already open it is easy to chisel out the old door latch inside of the door.
hot water
i dont know how to fix it so you tell me how to fix it
It is inside the latch itself.
If I understand you right the door is opened and won't close because the latch is tripped. Lift up on the door handle and take your finger or a screw driver and move the latch to the open position
*continued question* This is a driver's door latch.... if there is a catch to release the latch back into the normal position I cannot seem to find it with the screw driver attempts. Again it is bitter cold out but the latch isn't seized by ice, and the door does not seem to be weighed down on it's hinges and out of normal "closing" alignment (but I cannot guaranty it isn't)
Read on another site, to simply lubricate the latch excessively with WD40 and then continue to open and close door handle until the latch releases and catches. I just tried this minutes ago with my Pontiac sunfire and sat in my car held the door closed and pulled the open & close door handle in and out until the latch caught. It worked great !! Now the door latch catchs without a problem. Apparently, some latchs just need to be lubricated quite often. Hope this helps. Added: WD40 is NOT a lubricant. You can use it to clean out the latch, but then have to put a lubricant after drying.
