the french care so much about the revolution because it made a massive impact on, not just France, but Europe! if the revolution had not happened, France and possibly even the rest of Europe would not be what it is today. France might still have estates, kings and bad execution habits but because of this revolution, people all around Europe started to realise what France had become. i hope this answer is helpful :)

I am no experert on France, but off the top of my head: first, the french revolution and napoleonic wars that followed helped spread the idea of democracy throughout Europe and Russia. Furthermore, the French colonized Indo-China, that would be Viet Nam, Cambodia, etc. They also Colonized countries in Africa. These are modern impacts, during the Holy Roman Empire France was a major player. This is to play down Frances role in high culture activity. Modern visual art including painting has been more active in France than anywhere else in the world. Like I said I have never studdied French history but They have made incredible impacts on the world.
