The people of Mali wanted to learn to read and write in Arabic because in the North of Mali there are Arabs and if the people want to communicate with most of them they can learn Arabic. Another reason is that most maliens are Muslims and one of their beliefs is that they have to go to the"Mecque" which is in Asia where they speak Arabic.
The biggest Mud Mosque. The people of Mali make it, and they re-do it every year, and add more mud onto it. They apply the mud on with their hands.
One of the leaders of Mali, Mansa Musa, was Islamic so he tried making Mali islamic. On his journey home to west africa, Mansa Musa brought with him several Islamic scholars to teach his people the words of Qu'ran and just how to live as true muslims.
