A Periodic table The Periodic Table of the Elements.
Mendeleev grouped elements according to their properties. For more info see this article: http://chemistry.suite101.com/article.cfm/the_periodic_table_of_the_elements
The periodic table of elements (Table of Mendeleev) is not split in half.
Dmitri Mendeleev
Mendeleev was able to predict the properties of the elements that were not discovered at that time. He left gaps for these elements in his Periodic Table.
he drew up a table that grouped elements according to their atomic weights, his table became the basis for the periodic table of elements used today.
They have simliar properties and same elements although later on more elements were added to the modern periodic table.=Both periodic tables have elements grouped by similar properties. Mendeleev's periodic table had elements arranged in order of increasing atomic mass in columns with similar properties. While many of the elements are in order of atomic mass on the modern periodic table, some are not, as the modern table has elements arranged in order of increasing atomic number.=
A Periodic table The Periodic Table of the Elements.
The greatest triumph of Mendeleev's periodic table was his predictions of the existence of the undiscovered elements.
Mendeleev created the periodic table of elements. At his time, there was no grouping for the elements. He figured out that they can be grouped by mass and physical properties His result was so good that it correctly predicted elements that were not discovered yet.
Mendeleev arranged elements in rows and columns according to increasing atomic masses. The elements with same properties were grouped together which formed the base for modern periodic table.
This is the periodic table of elements (Mendeleev table).

He "Dmitri" propose that the periodic table of elements that the elements should be grouped by rows and column and by atomic mass,
Dmitri Mendeleev first periodic table is called Mendeleev's periodic table. Elements are arranged according to atomic mass.
There are 18 groups in the Periodic Table of elements.
The periodic table is from 1869.
