Yes there is. It's a little Iraqi flag (I don't know what soldier would want to wear an Iraqi flag on his/her chest) but yes...there is.
They go by the "Campaign Ribbon." Normally, no ribbon no membership.
Yes
Dear John
Anyone who served their nation honorably in wearing the military uniform, in war or peace, is a veteran.
"Where did you get it?" Which gulf war were you in? At sea? Flying? Kuwait? Iran? Iraq? Saudi Arabia? Turkey?

veteran means survived a war, not died in war.
A veteran is any member of the armed forces who was deployed overseas to a combat zone area during the times that the United States specifies that area as a hostile threat to our country and our citizens. I served in Vietnam as a Marine and wished that G.W.Bush had the guts to have done something less cowardly than his family-influenced service avoidance. Men and women died in IRAQ needlessly to line the pockets of the giant war-profiteer corporate scumbags.
A war veteran or just simply veteran.
Military nurse in war,YES...a military veteran. Civilian nurse in war, YES...a VETERAN of her occupation but not a MILITARY Veteran. Another words, the word "Veteran" is not strictly a military term. A person can be a veteran doctor, veteran lawyer, veteran school teacher, etc. Veteran means someone that has been doing that job/occupation for a long time.
