Why are Pakistanis considered Pakis?
Pakistanis are not called Pakis by anyone other than rascists. The term was coined by extreme right wing activists as a slur on all South Asian immigrants. In time the word has come to be used casually by certain groups of South Asian youths, however it is not and has never been an ethnic demonym. Pakistan is a multi-ethnic country with nations such as the Baloch, Pashtun, Punjabi, Waziri, Sindhi, Kalash etc so there is no such thing as an ethnic Pakistani. If there was, the demonym would be "Pak" and not "Paki".
