Mithras
The Roman god, Mithras is depicted as slaying a bull. Mithras was an evolution and deification of Mithra, in the Persian Zoroastrian belief. Zoroastrian beliefs about Mithra changed over time, between regarding him more or less as a god, to being comparable to an archangel. He was always clearly inferior to Ahura Mazda.
I think you might be referring to Mithras (I'm not sure if I spelt it right) You see, whenever the Romans conquered a new country, they often had to copy a few of there gods and add it to there mythology. Mithras was, originally a god of light, as you said in the question, but when the Romans added him, in the end he became protector of soldiers.
the answer is mithras
Philospphy!. Mithras was the ancient Persian God of light and truth, a sun god as it were.
The Persian god of light is known as Mithras in Latin and Greek. However, Mithras is not a strictly Roman or Greek god; he was originally a deity of the ancient Persian religion known as Zoroastrianism. The worship of Mithras became popular in the Roman Empire during the late 1st to the 4th century CE, and he was associated with the sun and regarded as a god of light and truth.

There is no Egyptian god who slew his uncle, as the only god who "died" in Egyptian mythology was Osiris who was killed by Set and revived to rule in the afterlife by Isis. Horus warred with Set to rule, but did not kill him.
A good Persian god is named Ahura Mazda.
Zeus, slew Cronus.
