A child killer
It was the German serial killer Peter Kurten who was dubbed "The Vampire of Düsseldorf". Kurten was guillotined on July 2, 1931. Peter Kurten was named the "Vampire of Dusseldorf".
Kurten, known as the 'Vampire of Dusseldorf', brought a young woman to his house and tried to strangle her. Maria Budlick, a domestic servant on vacation, was let go after Kurten asked her if she would be able to remember where he lived. She lied and said no. After being released she wrote a letter to the local police and after several weeks she was interviewed. Once she showed them where this strange man that had tried to kill her lived, it was only a matter of time before Kurten was picked up and arrested. Found guilty of multiple murders and kidnappings, Kurten was executed on July 2, 1931.
