Generally speaking, all cells except for nerve cells store energy to drive chemical processes during cell division. So before undergoing Mitosis, they first prepare themselves that results to their growth in size until they had stored enough energy, then the cells are ready to divide themselves.

∙ 13y agoNo, plant cells DO undergo mitosis, but there are some minor changes.
During the end of telophase and the beginning of cytokinesis in animal cells, the cell membrane pinches in half to form the 2 new daughter cells. However, in plant cells, a thicker cell plate forms between the 2 new cells, and they pinch off and the outside hardens into a new cell wall.
