it's most likely a water flow problem....check the pump filter and clean if necessary. this happened to ours yesterday, and today we found the filter was clogged, cleaned it, and the heater started right up.
Have the thermocouple checked or spillage from down draft and make sure there is free air for proper combustion
High winds, pilot generator. Is the heater located next to a wall? Is the heater door closed? Does the heater have a draft hood or what they call a stackless heater? Ken
Good chance its your hot surface ignighter that has broken. Check to make sure that there is 120 v or far more common 220v at fenwal Depending if heater is wired for 120v or 240v. If proper voltage is present ignighter is broken. by zoomy
The thermocouple only keeps the pilot light. Temp sensor, gas valve, high limit switch, safety switch, thermostat, would cause burner not to stay lite. Better to post MFG,model, problem. lenox, model #, ______________________________
The overheat switch on a Lars Lite 2 pool heater is typically located near the heat exchanger or control panel. It is designed to automatically shut off the heater if it detects excessively high temperatures. For precise location, refer to the owner's manual or the heater's schematic diagram, as placement may vary slightly between models. Always ensure the heater is powered off before attempting to access internal components.
When was the last time the filter was cleaned? Have all the components in the heater system been checked for proper values? Does the heater sound as if it wants to fire up? Does it have a pilot light or electronic ignition? Have the orifices been checked for bugs or spiders? Ken
If the pilot light on your Laars Teledyne Lite 2 model LLG 125 does not stay lit after replacing the gas valve and pilot burner assembly, check for proper gas supply and ensure there are no blockages in the gas line. It's also important to verify that the thermocouple is functioning correctly; it may need replacement if it fails to generate sufficient voltage. Additionally, inspect the venting system for any obstructions that could affect combustion and pilot operation. If the issue persists, consulting a qualified technician may be necessary for further diagnosis.
No, that is part of the function of the pilot light. To light the burner and to keep the gas valve open. The thermocouple sits in the flame of the pilot and produces a small electrical current that keep the gas valve open. When the tank cools down, the thermostat opens the valve to the burner so that it can light. When the pilot goes out, it is usually the thermocouple that is bad.
Yes, a Laars Lite 2 heater can be used with a saltwater pool, but it's important to ensure that it is compatible with saltwater systems. Saltwater can be more corrosive than traditional chlorine, so you should check for any specific guidelines or recommendations from the manufacturer regarding saltwater use. Regular maintenance and monitoring of the heater's condition are also advisable to prevent potential corrosion issues.
The thermocouple has to be maintained hot enough by the pilot flame or it will cause the gas valve to shut down all of the flow of gas. The pilot flame is probably set too low (easily adjusted with a screw driver) to satisfy the thermocouple. If not the thermocouple or the gas valve may be bad. I like to keep the flame just high enough and aimed to satisfy the thermocouple and not make it red hot
If it will not lite at all, copper pilot line kinked,,, bad gas valve, if you have the button on pilot and depressed down all the way. Will light but not stay lite, bad thermocouple.
No.
