A seatbelt holds you in place in case of an accident. You really don't want to hit your face on the steering wheel or windshield glass and have your face all cut up. Those scars never go away no matter how carefully they are stitched up.

What is the primary purpose of a seatbelt?

The primary purpose of a seatbelt is to secure passengers in their seats during a vehicle's movement, particularly in the event of a collision or sudden stop. By restraining occupants, seatbelts reduce the risk of injury or ejection from the vehicle, significantly enhancing safety. They work by distributing the forces of a crash across stronger parts of the body, minimizing the likelihood of severe injuries.

Does a seatbelt prevent neck fatigue?

A seatbelt does not specifically prevent neck fatigue; its primary purpose is to enhance safety by restraining occupants during a collision. However, wearing a seatbelt can promote better posture and alignment while seated, potentially reducing strain on the neck during long drives. Additionally, a properly adjusted headrest can help support the neck and minimize discomfort. Ultimately, while a seatbelt contributes to overall safety, it may not directly address issues of neck fatigue.
