first you chill a onion for a day in a fridge. then you cut it and see if your hypothesis was right
Well it may do but it will destroy the delicate cells of the onion and a frozen onion would be very difficult to cut, I suggest you refrigerate the onion to cool the fumes that make your eyes water, this causes them to move down toward the floor instead of up toward your eyes or my preferred method is to peel the onions in a bowl of cold water or under a running tap.
yes and no in the fidge no but in the freezer for 30 minutes yes
You have to dip it in water for 5 to 15 minutes and then put it in the freezer for 20 minutes
The dependant variable in this experiment would be the amount of 'crying' resulting from the cutting of each onion.
You wont get same taste of onion if you boil it. But yes it will prevent you from crying.
I read something that said to burn a candle while cutting an onion. I tried it and it actually worked.Another method is to cut the onion under water.when cutting onions place your cut pieces into cold water to maintain the tear gases. When you peel your onion dip it in cold water before cutting and continue to dunk it periodically as you cut to keep those tear gases to a minimumonion is also good for those burned rice situations-- just cut an onion in half and put it into the pot of burned rice to eliminate that burned rice odor-- This may not always work with the taste of burned rice but at least you can somewhat control the odor.
Yes. Also, if you chew bubblegum while cutting the onion it is supposed to prevent you from crying
Yes it would. The volatile oils in the membrane between layers of onion make your eyes water, provided the onion is sufficiently warm; if the onion is cold the vapours won't be released during cutting. For this reason, onions should be kept in the refrigerator; store them in a plastic bag, twisted to keep out the air. You can put them in several layers of plastic bags, or in a tightly-sealed plastic container so that they don't cause your refrigerator to smell of onions.

yes if you put the oniion in the freezer 10-15 miutes before you use it ,it prevents you from crying
is order to avoid crying 1.wear glasses 2.wash while cutting
Since tears come out of your eyes, you could technically get your eyes removed so you could not physically cry anymore :)

sharpen your knife before hand and rinse the onion in hot water for about 3-5 mins before hand also, its what we do at work
I assume your asking "cutting onions", The simplest way I've noted is to turn on the stove fan and let it pull the air away from you as you work on cutting the onion and then wash your hands and tools used.
I am also looking for some, but I only have one. Will chilling an onion before cutting it keep you from crying? There is also another one about extracting onion DNA, but i don't know much about it. hope i helped:):) because I'm looking too!
Onion:When we cut onion 2 chemicals like sulfoxides and enzymes to form gas when this gas reach our eye it makes cry now usually to avoid crying we wash the onion then we see crying chemicals if we make next onion we will wear goggles to protect our eyes thus gas do not reach our eyes.
no
