It needs to be done by a dealer. Otherwise someone could buy a fob, program it to a car them self & then drive the car away without the alarm going off.
By design, they can only be programmed by those possessing the correct equipment. If this were not so, anyone could buy a fob, program it to a vehicle, and then disable the alarm.

New York Vauxhall Gardens was created in 1767.
New York Vauxhall Gardens ended in 1859.
Open the FOB and find out.
Time for a new battery in the fob.
The address of the Vauxhall Historical Society is: Po Box 84, Vauxhall, NJ 07088-0084
You don't. Take the car and the new fob to a caddy dealer or a locksmith who has the equipment to program it.
Well that question is too general. What year and what make is the vehicle? Is it a brand new key fob? If it is brand new it may need to be programed to the vehicle. The battery may be dead in the fob. The fob may also have a broken contact inside of it. I recommend taking your key fob and vehicle to the dealer for diagnosis.
