You hit the "Start" button located in the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
Then, you look on the bottom of the window that opens up. There should be two buttons there, "Log Off" and "Shut Down". Once you click on the "Log Off" button, there will be another window opened. There will be two more options: "Switch User" or "Log Off". Choose the "Log Off" button and turn off your screen to save energy.

∙ 9y agoThe right way of logging off of your computer is to first close running applications to avoid data loss. If a shutdown is intended, one should make sure there aren't other users logged on to the system first.
