thermometer
It's called a rectal thermometer. It gives a slightly more accurate reading than when put under your tongue or in your armpit.
Put a thermometer under your tongue and close your mouth tightly.
Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit invented the mercury thermometer in 1714.many inventers invented there own version of the thermometer but the mercury themometer i think most likely is just a regular thermometer you put in someones mouth under there toung. The regular inventor of the thermometer that you put in your mouth is some spanish named guy called Santorio but i dont reallt know his last name

In 1612 the inventor Santorio Santorio became the first to put a scale on his thermometer. It was perhaps the first crude clinical thermometer as it was designed to be placed in a patients mouth for temperature taking
its so obvious yaar. just to clean it and bring the temperature at 0 so that when it is put in a persons mouth it gives a right temperature.
A rat terrier's normal temperature is 101 to 102.5 degrees Fahrenheit (38.3 to 39.2 degrees Celsius). To take your dog's temperature, you'll need a rectal thermometer. Put some petroleum jelly on the bulb of the thermometer. Ask someone to hold your dog's head while you lift his tail and insert the thermometer about an inch or so into the rectum. Do not let go of the thermometer. Hold it in until the temperature is read (about 3 minutes for a mercury thermometer), and then remove gently.
One way of checking to see if a thermometer is working properly is to get a second one and see if the temperatures match.Another method thing you can do is put it in your mouth, and it should read around 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit 37 degrees Celsius.
For a single thermometer, placement should be in a central location.
It depends on what kind of thermometer you have. If you are simply looking for a general idea, place a themometer under the arm. You need to hold their arm down - which is usually easier if you can lay them down and give them a fun toy to look at. If accuracy is important, a rectal thermometer is best for infants. In that case, be sure to use a thermometer intended for that use. It usually doesn't bother them, and if you can do it when you do a diaper change... they barely notice you are doing anything unusual.
