The act of taking all notes/beats in a digital recording and aligning them to a perfect time grid in music making software.
quantise (English) quantize (Us English)
In music, "quantize" refers to the process of aligning notes or beats to a specific grid or rhythm, often done electronically to correct timing errors or create a more precise and consistent sound.
You can't really quantize water in that way.

Yes. The stages are Sampling, Quantizing and Encoding (in that order)
Quantize in music refers to the process of aligning musical notes or beats to a specific grid or time interval. This can affect the overall sound of a musical composition by making it sound more precise and rhythmically consistent. Quantizing can help tighten up a performance and correct timing errors, but it can also remove some of the natural feel and groove of a live performance.
In logarithmic quantization, one does not quantize the incoming signal but log of it to maintain signal to noise ratio over dynamic range. Dr Inayatullah Khan
Usually, you can choose a piece in 4/4 ("common") time. Then, either play or quantize it to tracks of rock drums and bass.
What is a variable
You will notice a small drop-down box in one of the panels called "snap" and adjust it to the beat timing of your song. If you are using a standard 3/4 beat, set this snap to "cell" and while in the piano roll of your pattern, press [CTRL] + Q to instantly quantize all unselected notes in the pattern, or do the same to selected notes to only quantize those.Take note as the zoom level of the piano roll affects this quantization. If you are zoomed out where the 3/4 cells are merged into beat or bar view (FL does this so that the screen isn't clustered with too many vertical lines), then the pattern will quantize to what cells are visible. Zoom in to the actual note lengths of the snap and FL will align every note.If you write your notes in the step sequencer instead of the piano roll, they will be automatically quantized to the snap and shuffle settings, then you can simply send those notes to the piano roll as they are played. Keep in mind when doing this if your snap is set to "cell" and you adjust the shuffle, quantizing the notes sent to the piano roll will snap to 3/4 and you will lose the shuffle positions. To keep them, change the snap settings to 1/3 step or 1/3 beat.
Most often size is considered not to be quantized But some theories of space do quantize distance and create a net of approximately unit length which is the structure of reality. The Planck length (about 1.6 * 10-35 meters) is now considered the smallest length about which anything can be known.
I am trying to create a realistic audio equivalent sound model of various elements dropped 40 octaves. I have done this without quantization on my spectraphonic periodic table of the elements, but in this stage I want to realistically render solitary atoms of each element audibly. I wish assistance/ideas surrounding optimal representational strategies.
