I think you may be thinking of Jamie Lynn Spears, Hollywood is known for making exceptions for the money makers but I believe this liability may have been considered when they ended Jamie Lynn's contract from her Nickelodian show, though this was not discussed publicly probably for the very reasons you are mentioning.
