A US half dollar with a date of 1979 is a Kennedy half dollar not a liberty half dollar. The coin has no silver and is only face value.
Franklin half dollars are not rare or even scarce so if the coin has any wear at all, the value is just for the silver about $12.00. 1953 is a common date.
The date is on the obverse of the coin, just above the words Half Dollar at the 9:00 o'clock position.
A US half dollar with a date of 1983 is a Kennedy half dollar not a liberty half dollar. The coin has no silver and most are only face value.
4-23-11>> 1946 is a not a rare date for walking Liberty halves, if it shows any wear the value is for the silver, about $15.00
Post new question with a date. Lincoln has never been on a half dollar.
nothing it's a fakeMoreMorgan dollars (designed by George Morgan, hence the name) were minted from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921. Are you sure you don't have a walking liberty half dollar? They were minted in 1947 but look very different from a Morgan dollar - and in any case they clearly say "half dollar" on the back. If so, please see the Related Question for values.
