I have two Dumbo Dwarf rats, and I LOVE them!! Rats a an amazing addition to ANY home! I often refer to rats as tiny rodent dogs!! My rats are sweet little babies who love giving me kisses! They are very energetic and cute!! I haven't taught my rats any tricks yet, well besides come which is just me making kissey sounds, but I have plans to teach them loads of tricks!! My rat Eugene loves to sit on my shoulder, but will sometimes get bored and go into my shirt!! I put a tank top on so he is just in between my shirt and tank top!! I let my rats go in my shirt, but you can teach them not to if you don't like that! Rats are very affectionate and intelligent pets!! My rats have never bitten me, which is something I'm very happy about. And trust me, I have made them pretty annoyed with me at times. If you are considering getting rats as pets you should first know a few things. Tanks are a NO, tanks will kill your rats due to no ventilation and ammonia build up(which is a deadly chemical in rat pee if there is no proper ventilation). Proper rat cages can rage from 40-250 dollars, but in the end are worth it because you have a happy and healthy rat. Rats need lots of room and toys to play with, such as foraging toys, hammocks, ropes and rope bridges, and places to sleep. They also need healthy food and such.
