The methods of supporting individuals to express their needs and preferences that I use are to communicate with them using their preferred spoken language and the use of signs. Their family and friends provide enough information about the resident, which makes the communication easier.
It is important to find out an individuals communication and language needs because communication is the necessity of living and one cannot communicate without language.
It is possible that people speaking the same language may confront cultural barriers to communication. This could happen if they spoke different dialects, or if one or both of the individuals were not native speakers of that language.
Conditions could be stroke patients, Autism, individuals with mental health issues, Dementia patients.

Current local, UK and European legislation and organisational requirements, procedures and practices for data protection, including recording, reporting, storage, security and sharing of information, health and safety generally and specially when setting up and using communication equipment, risk assessment and management for setting up and using communication equipment, communicating with individuals using their preferred communication method and language, working with others to provide integrated services
