Look up Giordano Bruno.
religious beliefs defy science and vice versa... when people speak of the science of a religion they are talking non-sense:)
Christian Science
I'm assuming science can't answer why people believe in whichever religion they do.
There's nothing special about opposing points of view. There are debates between science and science, and debates between religion and religion as well. For as long we don't know all the absolute truths, and possibly even after that, people will disagree.
Science and religion both seek to explain the world around us, but they operate in different ways. Science uses evidence and experimentation to understand the natural world, while religion often involves faith and belief in the supernatural. Some people find that science and religion can complement each other, while others see them as fundamentally incompatible. Ultimately, how they are related depends on individual perspectives and interpretations.
Religion is a very complicated subject, since there are many different religions, and each religion is subject to many different interpretations. Science is much more unified. I would say that there are at least some interpretations of religion which are compatible with science. There are also interpretations of religion which are incompatible with science. The choice is yours.
One is for smart well educated people and the other is for children.
Yes, science and religion can be reconciled by recognizing that they address different aspects of human experience. Science focuses on the natural world and empirical evidence, while religion deals with spiritual beliefs and values. Many people find ways to integrate both perspectives in their lives.
scientism, for one thing. scientism is a social mindset, such that the sovereignty, sanctity and authority of science is socially revered with the fervor of religiosity. and, for many people religion is the opposite of science.
Religion helps a lot of people to feel comfort and belonging, it also lends a set of moral guidelines, however... without science you never could have asked that question to a miilion people simutaneously, and I wouldn't be answering you right now.
not all of the answers are proven by science because there is a such thing as miracles and unexplainable events that only faithful people can understand and accept
People have different beliefs and values, and what matters most is mutual respect and understanding. Both religion and science offer unique perspectives on life and the world around us, and it is possible for people to appreciate both for their individual contributions. It is important to approach these conversations with an open mind and willingness to learn from each other, rather than trying to prove one perspective as superior to the other.
