If you have an old house with 1X4 boards cover with 1/2 plywood first, use lots of screws to keep out the squeeks ( 1 screw every 6" around the perimeter and every 12" in the feild) use flooring screws. If you have a newer house with aspenite floor sheathing, screw it down 1 screw evey 8" all over. Get a really good quality under pad.
