Marc Antony was the Roman leader who made an alliance with Cleopatra. He needed her money, she needed his power.
Cleopatra did many great things. She brought Egypt to the height of its power. Making it the most dominant place in the Earth at that time. She also made an alliance with Rome, but Octavian, (more famously known as Augustus Ceasar in the Bible) broke that alliance.
She was a great leader because she was deeply in love with Egypt and she was classified by historiens to be the last pharoah of anicent Egypt
Marc Antony was the supreme Roman power in the east. Cleopatra quickly realized that she needed him to further her ambitions as Caesar, her former protector was dead. They made an alliance, with Antony giving her territories and titles and she giving him the financial support to further his military ambitions. Neither one of them really influenced the other to any great extent as they each had their own agendas. However Cleopatra was said to have had the greater influence on Antony by turning him away from Roman values with her excessive and luxurious lifestyle.
She made a few decisions, but they were mostly important only to herself and her desire to keep her dynasty alive. Her most important political decision was her alliance with Rome. first under Caesar, which established her on the throne with Rome's backing, and her second alliance with Marc Antony, against Octavian. The second alliance ended disastrously, both for Cleopatra and her dynasty.
She didn't. She actually lost Egypt's independence and made it became a Roman province.
Cleopatra had her brother/husband killed. She also made an alliance with Julius Ceasar and annoyed the Roman Senate so that they sent an army to conquer her.
Marc Antony made an alliance with Cleopatra of Egypt to rule the east.
She did nothing to influence Roman rule prior to her alliance with Marc Antony. She watched and waited to see the outcome of the war between the triumvirs and the assassins before she made her move.
In her reign, Cleopatra made a political alliance with Marc Antony, and through this alliance gained territories. These new territories under her control made Egypt almost the same size as it was under the heyday of the Pharaohs. Her other major achievement was bringing down the Roman republic and enabling Octavian to become sole ruler.
