Put Petroleum Jelly inside it but not too much. You can take it apart if you are very careful and have confidence you can put it back together. You only need to take apart some of it to put some of the Pet.-Jelly. When you turn the cube it spreads it around and evens it out.

Well that depends on how oiled you want your cube to be. I am assuming that you use a regular Rubik's Brand 3x3x3 Cube, and want to improve your time. To begin with, I used to use petroleum jelly, or vaseline, but I have stopped using that, as I recently discovered that after long periods of time it actually melts the interior of the cube. I then tried WD-40, in tiny amounts, which worked reasonably well, although did tend to make the pieces pop out more often. My favourite lube at the moment is silicone spray. This is fairly common, and can be found at most hardware stores. Just pop out a couple of pieces, spray, and leave to dry for a couple of days and your cube will be much faster. If you can't find any silicone spray, I recommend www.puzl.co.UK, as this sells some of the fastest rubik's cubes I know of, and they all come pre-lubed. I would recommend off of that website a white speedsolve cube as the come with adjustable springs.

Another way to lube your cube is to use cooking oil. I used conola oil spray and it works extremely well (be careful not to put too much otherwise the oil leeks out). I still have not found a smoother one. I can do 360 degree turns on my 4X4X4 rubik's cube. The only problem is some people don't like it to be so smooth.

If you want a messy, gloopy mess, use vaseline.

If you want a super-speedy, unreliable cube, use WD-40.

But, If you want a good, clean, speedy cube, I would use silicone spray.

If you want very fast without having to go out and buy anything use cooking oil (canola oil is good).

It's probably not the best lubrication, but I use furniture polish. What it does is it not only makes the turning mechanisms more greasy, but it also creates a thin coat of protection around the individual pieces of the cube so there is less friction, and therefore spins more smoothly and quickly. Also, I use furniture polish because it is one of the few lubricants that don't ruin your cube over time. Vaseline Soap Silicon Spray oil (Conola oil spray is good) I find Conola oil the best. Now my 4X4X4 can do 360 degree turns!

Well that's a good question you might say. I have years upon years of experience with rubix rust removal, follow my directions carefully.

1. Soak cube for 3 hrs. in a mixture of: 2 fl. Coke; 2 fl. of spit; and a squeeze of toothpaste
(Trust me, it works)

2. Give the solutions a good shake to loosen all of that rubix goop ruining your favorite cube. Remove cube from solution, I like to use a strainer to retain the "good stuff." Rinse thoroughly with rubbing alcohol until clean.

3. Finally, rinse cube under cold water for a minute or two- and your cube is like brand new!

I just move my cube so that the top it turned half way and the bottom is moved half way.. then i take a dab of vasilene (if thts how u spell it) and dot it in all of the black corners sticking out..then i twist it around and i make sure its in there good..then i move the sides on the left and right half way and i repeat! (thats the easy and fast way)

you have to use stuff

--------

^Very specific answer.

Ranked from lowest to highest (the lubes I know of, from general opinions all over the web):

Jig-a-loo(may slightly form cracks in the pieces of a Rubik's brand)

CRC

Diff. Oil

Maru(Dries out quickly- good for 1-use[eg 1 comp])

Lubix(probably the best out there in my opinion)

(someone correct me? I've only used Jig-a-loo and Lubix)

Stuff you NEVER use:

Oil(canola, olive, vegetable, vegetable/cooking spray) or oil based products

Vaseline

YouTube Videos are available for each type of lube listed above.

(Camcuber, Thrawst, Badmephisto have very good tutorials on using Jig-a-loo and/or CRC, Lubix has a tutorial on their website, there is atleast 1 video on each of the other lubes)

the best lubricant is some sort of silicone spray. Jig-a-loo is recommend.

Vaseline should not be used

-----------

Silicone spray, such as CRC

but for guaranteed minimal damage to the cube, a lube such as Maru or Lubix is recommended.

For a spray such as CRC/Jig-a-loo, pop an edge out(scissors/flathead screwdriver may be needed), spray 2x in one side OR fill the edge with lube(I recommend you watch a video on that one, to judge the amount of lube), and put the edge back in, turn it for a few minutes before putting it down. (DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH, AND DO NOT LET THE CUBE SIT IMMEDIATELY AFTER SPRAYING LUBE, or you will literally have to break it apart with a hammer and chisel[learned from experience

:( ] and hope you don't break the actual pieces).

Even better, disassemble the cube, arrange the cubies so the inside is facing the direction you are spraying, and spray the lube onto the pieces. let the pieces dry, then reassemble the cube. (Wipe off any excess if you feel you have applied too much after using it for some time)

For Lubix, apply it to the gap between the center and the core, then turn each side a few times.

Youtube videos are available for each technique and lube type.

Vaseline and any type of oil (canola, olive, vegetable, vegetable spray, etc) or oil based products should NOT be used. they just gum up the cube and make it harder to turn.

Remove one corner piece of cube and put some vaseline inside it. It is the best and safest way to lubricate the cube. I do this all the time when my cube becomes rough.
