There are no disputes between those two nations (requiring a war).
The Soviet Union (Russia) and Communist China support Communist N. Korea. The USA and the United Nations supported S. Korea. Their is still trouble Today between N. and S. Korea, even though the war ended in 1953.
Russia occupied North Korea and the U S occupied South Korea after WW2
then America's screwed. =D It is unlikely, and if it happens there are many different scenarios, including the one written above, but it is not the only one. War with North Korea might also mean war with China, as it was in the early 1950's. North Korea and China have their own nuclear weapons now, with no need for support from Russia. It could be bad.
One war which is still on hold to this day due to the armistice.
The cold war between the USA and Russia
I believe that the U. S only supported South Korea because it was during the Cold War where the USSR and the U. S agreed to disagree. Thus the North were supported by the Soviet and Russia, whereas the South depended on America.
Right after the Atomic bomb was dropped on Japan in August 1945, the Soviet Union (Russia) declared war on Japan, and invaded Japanese conquered territory, of which Korea was one. After WWII, the Soviets took North Korea and the US (free world) took South Korea. Five years later, the Soviets supplied North Korea and supported them in their efforts to re-take their southern cousin, during the Korean War 1950-1953. Which they failed to do.
US, Australia, Thailand, S. Korea, S. Vietnam, Philippines, New Zealand.
The DMZ, the 38th Parallel.
No, Japan is much much smaller than Russia, Russia is the largest country in the world and Japan is just an island country.Japan's area = 377,944 km2 (145,925 sq mi)Russia's area = 17,075,400 km2 (6,592,800 sq mi)
North Korea failed to conquer S. Korea...allied victory. North Vietnam conquered S. Vietnam...allied defeat.
We went to war with North Korea in May of 1950. It finally ended in 1953.
