Kashi and Tirupathi. The expectation of the question to get the two most important piligrimage sites itself is not right as the piligrimage sites are not ranked from 1 to n in Hindusim. There are significant sites in each region and the Himalayan sites are most respected. Madhurai, Rameshwara, Trivandrum, Udupi, Gokarna, Srisaila, Tirpuati in south, Dwarake, Kolhapur, Somnath, Ujjayini in the west, Puri, Konark, Gaya in the east, Allahabad (Prayaga), Mathura, Kashi, Amarnath, Kedarnath, Badarinath, Hrishikesh, Haridwar, Ayodhya are all important places for Hindus.
For those who expect one god, one prophet, one religious destination, this many options may confuse a bit, but the abundance of choice is a merit in Hinduism. Abundance is what is appreciated in most fields in life - mode of transportation - do you want just one option available or many choices? Colleges - do you want one option or multiple choices? Do you appreciate only one course available to everybody or multiple choices? The answer is obvious - we appreciate choice and that is what Hinduism offers in religion also.
Varanasi or Kashi in India is considered a sacred site for Hindus. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and holds immense religious and spiritual significance for Hindus. Pilgrims visit Varanasi to take holy dips in the River Ganges and perform rituals at various temples and ghats.
