This goes for theRadioshack I work at part-time, which is located near the border of N.Carolina and S. Carolina.
The manager at the RS I work for makes a little over 40k per year and he is there between 60-75 hrs per week. The sad thing is, he is the highest paid manager in the entire district of 32 stores.
Our district manager is rumored to make 65-70k per year (but only he really knows ;p).
Our assistant managers in our district normally make around $9-10 per hr and commissions.
The worst pay is for us sales associates, $7.25 per hr. (minimum wage) plus our commission.
The only thing you get commissions for is accessories, cell phones and service plans.
If you sell a TV or computer you don't make a commission on the "BIG" item, but your commission comes from the accessories. PS. YOU DON'T MAKE COMMISSION ON ACCESSORIES UNLESS YOU SELL THEM WITH THE "BIG" items.
So if you sell a laptop, you don't get crap. But you're expected to lie, cheat, rape or murder someone in order to sell a service plan, cordless mouse, external hd, laptop cooler, carrying case, etc. And if you do get lucky enough to sell any of those accessories then you make a whopping 2.75% commission.
The majority of the sales associates money comes from how hard you can push cell phones. The more expensive phones need more expensive plans and need to be protected with more expensive accessories and don't forget the bluetooth and car charger! (BTW, if you did get lucky enough to sell all of this then you would probably be looking at around a $54 commission SPIFF, which isn't bad for about 30 mins of work.......oh wait...........crap......they brought it back 2 weeks later because it's a piece of shit.....there goes the commission.)
In CA, Minimum wage ($8/hr) plus a performance based add on. In KS and MO it's $6 for PT and $7 for FT plus commissions.

This depends on the store and the market, as well as what is required overtime for that district.

I've worked in a good number of stores as an assistant manager and a supervisor. I've worked for radio shack, cvs, Walgreen's, ames, kmart, sam goody's, high's, hecht's, spirit Halloween. maybe more- that's all that i can remember. pay varies based on what company you work for, your store sales volume, your responsibilities, and the area that you live. the large department stores and supermarkets are going to pay better than the smaller stores. the small stores in malls pay badly. usually i would say in the starting range of $25000 to $40,000. if you have experience, ask for more or if you have a degree. you'll also get a small bonus at the end of the year based on sales. the biggest bonus that i ever received was like $900. **I worked at Wet Seal as an Assistant Manager and made $13 p/. In retail there are many different job titles and "Assistant Manager" may mean one thing at one store and another somewhere else. At Wet Seal, the management structure was set up this way: 1. Store Manager 2. Co-Manager, 3. Assistant Manager (there were 3 of us). At another store, "Assistant Manager" could mean the #2 position as opposed to the #3(4, or 5 depending on seniority & talent).
The average salary for radio, on-air talent is around $75,000 (as of 2014). The actual salary will depend on location, experience, and company.
