there must be some sort of wiring problem which is causing them to burn.
why? did your car was stolen and you replaced the factory steering column with a salvaged fire bird steering column now your car wont start or even turn over and the security light stays on why?
i replaced the steering column and the fuel filter. the radio was stolen

u need to grease ur rubber bushes in the steering column .
key reader in steering column.
Disconnect battery. Wait 10 minutes, then remove airbag module (if equipped) and horn pad. Remove steering wheel. Pull off plastic trim panel below steering column. Turn ignition key to run (not start) and press lock tang to remove lock cylinder. Remove steering column lower shroud. Remove steering column upper shroud. Remove multi-function (turn signal/wiper/hazard) switch. Remove metal 'knee brace' bracket below steering column. Disconnect all affected wiring including wiring to ignition switch. Remove pinch bolt at bottom of steering column. Remove 2 nuts and t bolts mounting steering column. Note that it will now drop down and may pinch fingers or toes. Remove column from vehicle.

You have broken wires in the tilt wheel. You will need to take the steering wheel off and start looking for a broken wire in the steering column somewhere. You will have to have a steering wheel puller to get it off.
On the right hand side of the steering column. It where you put your key to start the vehicle.
The ignition switch is in the steering column..that's where you insert the key to start the vehicle.
If you do not keep your power steering fluid topped off, and/or do not change it once a year, your steering column will most likely start burning from friction of the steering rod and column. The best thing you could do is take it to a mechanic, to see how much damage you've done by not topping off your steering fluid. This is something explained in every owner's manual, but not often read. This is how most mechanics make their money, by people not topping off their power steering fluid. If it isn't looked at soon, then your steering could go out, and you could crash.
Have you tried wiggling the steering column while turning the key? If that helps, you probably need to remove a portion of the plastic cover from your steering column to enable you to lube the column lock. That's the thing that keeps the steering from turning if the key is not turned on. If the column lock jams, it can prevent the key from turning.
