There is no scientific approach to religion. Science involves facts, and knowledge derived from facts. Religion is about belief and knowledge derived from those beliefs. There are scientists, archaeologists, who do dig for and study religious artifact. Such things do not prove the validity of a religion. They do provide a history of the belief.
