Each family of mammals has its own specific name for the young, such as cows - calves, sheep - lambs, and Goats - kids. There are also more general names like cubs, pups and kits. Most baby animals are classed as 'young', eg. 'The tiger's cubs.' becomes 'The tiger's young.'
